Excitement is building!

Excitement is building!
The process of enhancing our new building located at 3525 US RT 34, Oswego is picking up steam with important improvements. Thanks to the combined efforts of our Board, Staff, and Community Volunteers along with the watchful eyes and professional expertise of our Public Officials, walls are being painted, a new fire alarm system is being installed, an automatic door plan is moving forward, the Gift Shop-Café is designed, and other cosmetic and safety renovations are being completed. Hundreds of volunteer hours have conserved precious, limited financial resources. A variety of Community Groups such as Boy Scout Troop 31 and officers/staff of the Oswego Police Department have enthusiastically responded to our mission of making this a true Senior and multigenerational Community Center. The Board’s Capital Campaign is in final planning stages with key stakeholders being interviewed with volunteer fundraising teams being assembled. Participants are accessing our programs, providing valuable insights and suggestions for future activities. While a hub of activity goes on at the new building, the staff continues to carry on all current programming at the Church of Brethren and at other partner sites for another month. The OSCC Board and Staff express our sincere thanks to immediate past Executive Director, Dave Barriball and Jo Letwaitis for their commitment to advancing our vision. We look forward to seeing you at our April 8th Housewarming Party: Taste of Oswego to formally present the Senior and Community Center to the Community. Oswegoland will have the center for lifelong learning it both wants and deserves. — Wally Hamlin, Nancy Patush, Craig Weber, and Pam White Executive Committee of the OSCC Board of Directors
