Free County Services
This year was another exciting year for the Oswego Senior Center. Since its inception as a meal program in 2007, serving 56 people, we have grown and touched the lives of over 2,800 community members and their families.
The FILE of LIFE program helps members of the Police and Fire Department provide services at times when you or a family member may not be able to communicate effectively due to medical reasons or personal injury.
Residents with any medical problems, seniors, and other interested citizens are provided a FREE FILE of LIFE packet. The packet consists of a door decal, a File of Life Information Card, and a magnetized vinyl cardholder for placement on your refrigerator door.
The door decal alerts first responders when they arrive that they can easily find your FILE of LIFE in plain view on the front of your refrigerator. The information card includes medication taken, allergies, medical conditions, blood type, recent surgery, and emergency contact information. Insert the card inside the vinyl cardholder and place on your refrigerator door.
Everyone who has a medical condition should complete a FILE of LIFE.
Benefits:
- Faster help for citizens in emergencies
- Instantly know the medical history of a patient
- Corrective treatment can begin at once
- No wasted time getting information from a confused patient
- Easy access to potentially life-saving information
- Assurance that proper persons will be notified quickly
For more information on FILE of LIFE or to obtain a file, please call (630)553-9100 or stop by the Health Department during regular business hours. Put it on your fridge today.
