Volunteer Opportunities

With the occupation of our new location, we have expanded space and will have more volunteer opportunities opening up as we add new programming and services. Currently we have reception, bus driving, out-door yard work, and food service volunteer opportunities. We are also seeking volunteer individuals who are interested in sharing a hobby or craft instruction workshop/class(es).

Senior Services Associates needs more volunteers who are able to give their time to combat isolation, depression, and help out our communities. You can make a difference!

Volunteers are currently needed to assist with:

  • Transporting seniors to necessary appointments and dialysis
  • Pick up and deliver groceries, food pantry packages, or delivering food with Community Food Nutrition Network
  • Friendly Visiting for isolated and homebound seniors
  • Handymen and women to assist with small home projects
  • Working with one of our various community agencies to help the community

AmeriCorps RSVP Seniors are individuals who are 55 plus wishing to make a difference in their communities. Benefits of joining our program include – excess liability insurance, mileage reimbursement where applicable, bi-monthly Senior Voice mailing, and we host an annual volunteer event, recognizing the good works of our volunteers.

 

OSCC is also looking for qualified Education Volunteers like retired teachers, social workers, nurses, doctors, college students or any qualified individuals to volunteer to teach Psychology, Math, Science, Anatomy, Astronomy  Language, Literature, Philosophy and more! We can help you develop a once a month, quarterly, or 4-8-week Zoom or in-person class to share your knowledge and help others continue to learn.
